This was our first all inclusive land vacation, we have experienced all inclusive on cruise ships but never at a resort. We didn’t set high expectations because we assumed.. well… buffet food. Can I just say… “MIND BLOWN”.
The flight from LA was a quick few hours to Cabo and we had speedy shuttle take us to San Jose Cabo which is actually closer on the Sea of Cortez side. Its away from the partying that Cabo is known for 🙂 PRO TIP: DONT STOP IN THE AIRPORT TO GIVE THE OFFICIAL LOOKING GUYS YOUR SPEEDY SHUTTLE TICKETS, JUST GO OUTSIDE WHERE THEY TOLD YOU TO GO. On the speedy shuttle tickets it warns not to give these guys your ticket, they will take you to some timeshare presentation. You have to walk past them to get outside, I told my husband this and he still got sucked in by one and they assured him to please give the tickets to them because” we would never find speedy shuttle outside”, I politely said we will take our chances, walked outside and they were standing there waiting for us 🙂 🙂 Call it “Following the directions” LOL
When we arrived 10 minutes later to the Hyatt Ziva it was gated, gorgeous and CLEAN, they handed us towels with sunscreen and beer and soda and took our bags and were as kind and cheerful as could be the entire time we were there. Check in was a breeze. We walked into a breathtaking view of the resort pools and ocean that instantly made me never question myself on spending a little more on a nicer resort!
Below is a picture of the bottom row of resort rooms, They all had swim up pools, and they were gorgeous!
I love that you didn’t have to sign for anything in the resort. Your bracelet shows you belong to the hotel so thats it, no signing for anything. We brought $600 with us for a week and came home with $500!
Below is a picture of right when you walk into the resort, absolutely beautiful!
We walked around to get our bearings, the resort was immaculate and spotless. They had lots of restaurants to choose from. They have little food trucks all around daily serving tacos and the pool restaurants are chips salsa and ceviche ALL DAY. It was delicious.
They have a dessert and Coffee bar that is open all the time with decent selections. The kids were in there at least 10 times a day!
Our room was a standard ocean view. It was large and clean, the beds were comfortable and clean. Our view was incredible as well. Everyone is so kind to you its hard not to feel like family. They put their hand over their heart when they walk by you in the resort, we all felt very welcome and comfortable the entire time.
The buffet was OK. It wasn’t bad at all but it wouldn’t be my first choice. We loved the Hibachi restaurant, it had the best sushi and fish and steak we should’ve eaten there every night! The crepe truck by the pool each night was a family favorite… every.single.night. #Igained10lbs
There were so many little nooks with sofas and tables to relax!
The pools had music and swim up bars and endless service, If you tip the guys a few dollars they will make you a priority all day. The kids had endless virgin drinks and they kept the margaritas coming .
There was always activities all day, beach volleyball, swim parties, water sports, horseback riding, water park for the kids, tons of pools.. it was incredible.
The nightly shows were decent, they were funny and kept us entertained.
The spa was top of the line, we had a couples massage, (super affordable) they have lots of pools and showers and relaxing areas before the treatment, and My daughter and I had pedicures, which was really reasonable at only $50 each from a special they were running. It was 5 star!
We walked outside the resort a few days and felt completely safe, we swam with dolphins across the street, that was a highlight for the kids. Well worth the $99 it is called Cabo Excursions. The town of San Jose Cabo is a 15 minute walk from the resort with shops and bakery and you can also see the other resorts on the beaches as you walk, lots of local shopping for treasures and souvenirs as well.
I loved how safe the resort is. They have security on the beach and don’t let people from the beach in, they know you from your all inclusive bracelets.
I Highly recommend this resort, so far Hyatt has exceeded all expectations!
I should note the beach isn’t swimmable its double black flag, the waves are really big and there is a rip current, but there were a lot of people up to their waist (including us) Haha and there is a lifegaurd on duty. We knew this about the beach but didn’t mind. The stretch of beach is beautiful and the water is clear, there are lots of beach activities along with chairs, sofas, and fire pits for you to use.
If you are looking at going on a vacation to Cabo, This resort is most definitely worth staying at, good food, family friendly, lots to do and SAFE!
xoxo
