Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach

We have alway wanted to stay at the Hyatt Regency in Huntington.  I think we have driven past it with love eyes for almost 10 years!  We have always stayed in Anaheim for Disneyland, so we never opted to stay at the beach… Until now and by golly it exceeded all expectations. We flew into John wayne airport, and you guys, if you have the option to fly into there or LAX, for the love of all things holy choose John wayne. Its clean, and beautiful and no lines, everyone is exceptionally nice and its 10 minutes to the hotel. When we went to fly home there was NO LINE for TSA.  Yes, NO LINE!!  Also they have couches with plug ins,, I felt extra fancy.

Back to the hotel, When you get there, its directly across the street from the beach on PCH. AMAZING location with its own bridge connected to the hotel to the beach. Its valet only, and costs $39 a night . It was worth it because there is no parking anywhere anyway.  The check in was super smooth and everyone was kind, they have special infused water at check in which was a nice touch.

The hotel is spanish style with stucco and lush greens everywhere. They have a lot of gorgeous fountains and little shops in side, in an open air style resort. They have amazing food choices, the Watertable was our favorite. The kids liked the pizza place. I loved the smores kits they have, and fire pits everywhere, its very family friendly.

The first night the hotel put on a lazer glowsitck party in the kids pool area which has 2 large waterslides and 2 small, with 2 pools and a hot tub. It was complementary for guests and my daughter loved it, we sat by a giant fire pit while she danced her heart out and swam.

Another great amenity was the free beach chairs with umbrellas and towels. We loved this! They also have sand toys you can use, which is great, because you can’t haul those back in a suitcase 🙂

The hotel has a lot of activities for kids, infact we missed sign ups for the mermaid class but we did watch poolside and were able to swim with the mermaids, which my daughter LOVED.

The hotel has Large pools, and it was not hard to get loungers, the pool is really warm which I loved. I think the water was 85-90 degrees.  Personally thats my kind of water temp 🙂 I loved the fruit tray pool side! It was fresh and delicious!

The bikes for rent were reasonable and alway available. We loved walking a block down PCH to Pacific city, its a newer indoor/outdoor complex that was very trendy.  It has a large variety of restaurants and bars and shopping, all open air and on the beach. We went there every night and had the best time. All the food we ate here was amazing. Its very dog friendly with lots of adorable pups around.

This hotel exceeded our expectations, we would 100 percent recommend the Hyatt Regency Huntington!

A few little extra facts, they serve Starbucks coffee, and give you free bottled water in your room and each time you leave the hotel. I thought that was nice touch.  The room service was quick and friendly and the beds were very comfortable. The room itself was nothing special. It was nice and clean and I would say standard and comfortable.
